Fees & Refunds
Last updated: August 14, 2026
During our beta, identity reveals are free and no fee is charged. Founding sellers who list during the beta keep free reveals permanently; reveal fees begin for new listings at a later date we will announce in advance. The fee schedule below is the future state.
Hagglefy is free to list and free to browse. Our only charge is a flat seller fee, paid by the seller at the moment a deal is agreed and identities are revealed. There is no buyer deposit and no charge to buyers. The vehicle purchase price never passes through Hagglefy.
1.The seller fee
When you and a buyer agree on a price and choose to reveal identities, Hagglefy charges the seller one flat fee based on the agreed vehicle price band:
Under $10,000: $99. $10,000 to $30,000: $199. Over $30,000: $349.
The fee is a flat amount for the service of connecting you with a verified, committed buyer, not a commission and not a percentage of the sale. [COUNSEL: confirm banded amounts, tax treatment (GST/HST on the service fee), and required pre-charge disclosure.]
2.When and how you're charged
The fee is charged to the seller's card on file through our processor, Stripe, at the moment both parties agree and identities are revealed. You will see the exact amount before you confirm the reveal.
By confirming the reveal, you authorize the charge. Hagglefy does not store full card numbers.
3.What the fee does and does not include
The fee covers Hagglefy's platform service through identity reveal: verified-seller listing, anonymous negotiation, and the connection to a verified buyer. It does not include the vehicle, any inspection, transport, financing, insurance, warranty, or any obligation of the buyer to complete the purchase.
Completing the sale (payment for the vehicle, transfer of ownership, and any bill of sale) happens directly between the buyer and seller, off-platform, under the applicable provincial process.
4.Refunds
Because the fee is earned when we connect you with a verified buyer at reveal, it is generally non-refundable once identities are revealed. We may, at our discretion or where required by law, refund the fee if the connection failed due to a platform error or a verified buyer who was found to be fraudulent. [COUNSEL: set the refund policy that is compliant and defensible under provincial consumer-protection law, including any mandatory cancellation/cooling-off rights and the treatment of a service fee charged for a completed service.]
5.No buyer deposit at this time
Hagglefy does not currently collect an earnest deposit from buyers. Any future deposit feature will be introduced separately, with its own clearly disclosed terms, and only after the necessary reviews are complete.
6.Changes
We may change fees on a going-forward basis; the fee shown to you before you confirm a reveal is the fee that applies to that transaction.
